Penang Village, Putrajaya Alamanda

We picked this location as we wanted a location where vegetarians do have a choices on menu. There is a beca displayed at the front entrance, but too bad, "Please don't sit" sign on display. :(

We ordered mostly of local dishes. I ought to get some pictures on vegetarian dishes as well ordered by others. We all vouched for asam laksa, tom yam fried rice, village special fried rice, curry mee ... Overall, our guts too full to even move an inch. Ops, there is western menu for those who prefer it.

Map of location : Alamanda Putrajaya (1st Floor, outside Parkson)
Price ranging : A bit pricy, not for daily meals.
Food critic : Atmosphere is relaxing. Waitress are pretty polite as well. Nice simple interior.

Starbites @ Pizza Hut (limited time)

Guess everyone would have heard about this pizza. My colleague and myself decided to try the "evolved" version of the original Starbites (it was suppose to come with a special sauce as a dip). Sadly, the branch that we tried out, ran out of Stock???!!! Nonsense! How disappointing. Nevertheless, we did sit down to fulfill our mission.

Tommy giving a commercial shot ... As you can see this pizza is one piece with 2-pull outs on the outer crust. This pull-out has been changed since the last time we had it (within the same month, I think so) ...
Anyway, we will give Pizza Hut a rest until there is something more interesting on the menu. Cherio ~~

Kuching flavours

Flew sideways to Kuching, Sarawak with intentions of experiencing the local "Hari Gawai" and see what sort of food to be located locally.

At Bidayuh villages, seen here is a different version of pulut (instead of being in a thick bamboo). The pulut is not made of glutonous rice (i.e. coconut milk) but instead of their own local rice. Almost all food is available at their own backyard. This version of pulut is said to last as long as 3 days. You gotta roll it between your hands to loosen up the rice from the edge.

Next two dishes is non-halal. Their kuey tiao includes char siew and their "bah ku teh" version is actually very mild dish, which serves with sup and rice (if want). Quite filling.

Too bad my trip was short or else I would have discovered more local food in Kuching. Next time ya?

Restoran Sayur-Sayuran Miew Shin, Seri Kembangan

Since Sasha is not around, we decided to have lunch at our favourite vegetarian shop in Seri Kembangan. It is run by Buddhist family. Once a week our office gets food delivered by them for RM4/pack, four types of veggie dishes.

Here is the shots on the dishes and all gathered around to eat that day:

Basically, these are what we ordered (for 4 of us):
- Vietnamese Prawn (a bit spicy for me but I love the sauce!)
- Dry Chili Chicken
- Sizzling Tauhu
- Crispy Goose/Geese? (presentation is not consistent but we love this dish)

There is some blooper shots that I will upload separately. Need time to edit them. Hahahaha.

Map of location : (Don't have yet)
Price ranging : Reasonable for nice tasty vegetarian dishes
Food critic : I'm crazy bout the Vietnamese sauce. The food is fabulous.

Bumbu Bali, Puchong

Our mandarin classmates decided to meet up 1st time for this year. Location suggested by Sugee, seconded by everyone else. Ms Woo (Apple) and Crystal was not available at meeting point. Rest five (Sugee, Zarin, Lily, Venka and myself) sat at the 1st floor of this restaurant. As mentioned in some other blogs, there was no air conditioning. Lucky it was a cool night, so we had no problems there.

We took a few minutes before Sugee came to decide what dishes to try. Once all seated, we picked out 5 different Balinese dishes from the menu. Es Campur can be found in desert menu).

Zarin and Venka tried the Es Campur and it was really tempting from across the table.
With 5 dishes, all of us had a taste of everything.

- Nasi Campur Bumbu Bali

- Siap Mepanggang (chicken) : I couldn't help but laugh at the name. See? You also couldn't believe it. :P

- Satay Lilit : Lemongrass is used instead of satay stick. Nearly bit into the whole chunk. Hahaha

Map of location : Here
Price ranging : Slightly above average
Food critic : If you're into spice, give this a try.
